About Cyprus
The island of Cyprus is situated in the eastern Mediterranean at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa, and at the gateway to the Middle East. This key geographic position, with modern infrastructure and pleasant climatic and living conditions, has contributed to the island’s continuous development as a respected international business and financial centre.
We always operate with a focus on the specific client needs, and we draw upon our international industry knowledge and experience to offer the best available services. Believing that this quality of service can only be achieved through close cooperation we aim in achieving strong, long-term relationship with our clients.
The Republic of Cyprus is a presidential democracy, with a population of nearly a million. Cyprus enjoys full diplomatic relations with more than 125 nations and is a member of the European Union.
The legal system in Cyprus is based on English Law and although Greek and Turkish are the official languages, English is widely spoken and used in official business and commerce.
Nicosia, the capital city, is the administrative and commercial centre whilst Limassol, the second largest town, is the main industrial centre, commercial port and a major tourist centre. The island has two international airports, two modern port facilities with ‘free port’ status, industrial ‘free zones’ and bonded warehouses.
The existence of Double Tax Treaties with an increasing number of countries, the banking confidentiality laws, the various tax incentives, the skilled and highly educated labour force, all combined together make Cyprus an attractive international base for a wide range of businesses.
Indeed, there is an increasing number of international companies established on the island which are related to banking, investment, insurance and trading operations. As a leading maritime centre, Cyprus now ranks in the world’s top merchant fleets in ships and in world tonnage. It is also home to a growing number of international ship-owning and ship management companies.
